Boerboel Australia Inc. requests that all associated members subscribe to the BAI Breeders Code of Ethics as well as promote high standards among breeders and owners in the quest for the preservation, advancement and improvement of the Boerboel breed.

Registered Breeders must support and promote BAI events

Registered Breeders with BAI must register all their pups
with BAI

Registered Breeders will have their dogs appraised by BAI
approved standards

Registered Breeders must guarantee genetic health of
pups. Replace or refund on vet advice.

Registered Breeders will pay all fees in a timely manner
to BAI

Registered Breeders will comply with all requirement from
BAI to remain registered

Registered Breeders will make provision for first time
owners to become members of BAI
-
Registered Breeders will ensure that their breeding
facilities are within the legal requirements as prescribed by the
municipal regulatory authority within the district where the facilities
are established.

All breeding dogs are to be registered in accordance with
the requirements of BAI. Registries.

Registered Breeders will endeavour to undertake all the
necessary health tests and temperament testing where such test results
will appear on the BAI certification highlighting each breeding dog’s
status relative to confirmation, health and temperament.

Ensure that at all times such dogs are properly housed,
watered, exercised and will receive Veterinary attention from a
qualified person, as and when required.

Provide adequate shelter for any dog/s kept outside the
house or premises.

Ensure that the exercise area for such dogs be of
sufficient size for the movement of such dog/s and to have the exercise
area/s fenced or walled so as to restrict the movement of such dog/s to
their property and that the exercise area is kept clean.

Not allow such dogs to roam at large, keep their dogs on
a lead, and under effective control, in all Public spaces, except those
specially designated where the dogs must be trained to return on
command.

Registered Breeders dogs will not be involved directly or
indirectly in or used for any illegal activity.

Breeding dogs will bear absolute identification in the
form of microchips.

Full health certification and/or records must be kept of
all breeding dogs at all times.

Breeders must keep accurate records of breeding dogs.
Such records include birth notifications, birth certificates,
registration certificates, service contracts, breeding records,
vaccinations and health certificates or reports.

Each breeding will be planned with the objective of
improving the standard of the specific bloodline and overall improvement
of the breed.

Breeders must thoughtfully select the appropriate stud
dog and brood bitch with the emphasis being on improved conformation ,
temperament and overall health while at all times conforming to the BAI
breed standard and the principles of genetics.

The breeder will provide the buyer of each puppy an
official BAI birth notice and vaccination card and microchip number at
point of purchase.

Bring to the attention of the appropriate authority cases
of alleged fraud, dishonesty, cruelty or neglect and not commit such
offences themselves

Ensure that when selling or transferring a dog that the
necessary signed document/s be provided to the purchaser or transferee
-
Ensure that all persons acquiring dogs from them clearly
understand their responsibilities for the care and welfare of such dogs
and they, the new owners, have the time and facilities to undertake
their obligations as laid down in this Code of Ethics

Not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the
breed, nor falsely advertise or mislead any person regarding the
performance and/or quality or health of any dog
